Dedicated to one of the most brilliant mothers I know, my lifelong friend and pseudo cousin, Jillianne.

Hey- in case nobody told you:

You're not a bad mom because you’re too tired to play with your kids.

You're not a bad mom because you sometimes get snappy with them.

You're not a bad mom because you need some time alone.

You're not a bad mom because you’re not perfect.

You’re not a bad mom because you don’t pack pinterest worthy lunch boxes.

You’re not a bad mom because you feel like one.

You’re not a bad mom because you say no to your kids.

You’re not a bad mom because you let your kids play on the ipad.

You’re not a bad mom because you hide in the bathroom sometimes to catch a breath.

You’re not a bad mom because you struggle with your mental health.

You’re not a bad mom because your inner self-critic says so.

You’re not a bad mom because you disagree with other moms.

You’re not a bad mom because you send your kids to daycare.

You’re not a bad mom because you feel guilty for not doing enough for your children.

You’re not a bad mom because all you want to do is sleep.

You’re not a bad mom because nobody tells you that you’re a good mom.

You’re not a bad mom because you forget appointments or birthday parties.

You’re not a bad mom because others judge you or disagree with your parenting styles.

You’re not a bad mom because you sometimes give into the power struggles.

You’re not a bad mom because you don’t always feel so patient, loving, and selfless.

You’re not a bad mom because of the mountain of laundry that needs to be done.

You’re not a bad mom because you’re sick and tired of cooking three meals a day.

You’re not a bad mom because you can’t wait for nap time.

You’re not a bad mom because you compare yourself to other moms.

You’re not a bad mom because your kids live off of fast food and fruit snacks.

You’re not a bad mom because your kids don’t eat organic food.

You’re not a bad mom because your kids don’t have the best gifts this holiday season.

You’re not a bad mom because you need breaks throughout the day.

You’re not a bad mom because social media says so.

You’re not a bad mom because you’re in a power struggle with your kid.

You’re not a bad mom because you can’t afford fancy new clothes

You’re not a bad mom because your house is messy.

You’re not a bad mom because there are cheerios everywhere.

You’re not a bad mom, end of story.

I just wanted to make sure that was clear, if it wasn’t already.

In unwavering awe, respect, and appreciation,

Shaye
